Senate Bill 498 failed to pass the House on Thursday despite a push from Gov. Kelly Ayotte, who has been outspoken in her support for the bill."
The proposed bill, SB 498, aimed to expand children's access to mental health services. The legislation would have created the New Hampshire Children's Behavioral Health Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding childhood behavioral health services through assessments collected from insurance carriers and third-party administrators.
House members voted to refer SB 498 to interim study – which means that the bill will no longer go forward this session.
